The SBUR has been closely monitoring evolving factors related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and recognizes that this pandemic continues to pose a significant public safety threat. We see this reflected in the decisions being made by institutions that affect the ability of our members, speakers and moderators to attend the SBUR 2021 Annual Meeting in person. Therefore, in recognition of concerns over safety, the SBUR Executive Committee has made the difficult, but necessary, decision to make the SBUR 2021 Fall Meeting a fully online, virtual meeting to take place November 4-7, 2021.

The Fall Meeting Program Committee has been working hard to create a phenomenal agenda for this year's meeting! We thank Jindan Yu, MD, PhD, Chair of the Annual Meeting Programs committee for her leadership and dedication to this year's meeting! If you can not make it on November 4th-7th, the meeting platform will be open for two weeks after the meeting. You can review all pre-recorded presentations during that time.

The meeting will kick off on Thursday, November 4th with the SBUR Trainee Affairs Symposium and a live poster session for the Virtual Travel Awards and the Coffey Award nominees, followed by presentations on the latest advances on emerging and leading topics within our field.

We will also have a virtual Poster Hall Social, open for live interaction with poster presenters on Saturday, November 6th from 5:15-7:15. The Poster Hall will be open for viewing throughout the meeting.

We are excited to announce Padmanee Sharma, MD, PhD, will be presenting the Leland W.K. Chung Lectureship and Martin Gleave, MD, will present the AUA Lecture.

This year's meeting will consist of six (6) sessions:

  • Emerging Technologies and Models for Urological Research
  • Endocrine and Genetic Regulations in Urological Biology
  • Epigenetic Regulations of Urological Development and Diseases
  • Infection, Inflammation, and Immune Response in Urological Biology
  • Biomarkers, Environmental Factors, and Health Disparities in Urological Diseases
  • Urological Stem cells, Lineage Plasticity, and Treatment Resistance

Additional programming will include Travel Award Presentations, Poster Sessions, the SBUR Annual Business Meeting, and an Awards Presentation Ceremony.
